You try holding a colored egg and not smiling!

Cole is really warming up to Easter. It's a far cry from the crying we had the first year with no nap. Having learned much - we're now careful to see he naps before the hunt and look at the change! He's all smiles, well everyone is.

It seemed like nearly every time we put a egg in his hand, it would trigger a smile on his face. But he's got such a grip on his egg, he doesn't want to deposit it in his easter basket (easter dog ... but it's so cute, and still in good condition, so it's gotten recycled the last few years).

Jared is a trooper trying to find eggs anywhere he can

He tries to be coy and casual

He tries to boldly go where everyone else has been

Little did he know, the rest of them were all hiding (and looking) under the trampoline

Luckily we have plenty of adult supervision watching on or in some cases shouting out instructions from inside the warm house. The ironic part is the week before the actual date of Easter was lovely and warm, but due to some scheduling conflicts we celebrated on a rather cool (and snow pending) day.

But here is Uncle Chris trying to teach Uncle Jim the snow avoidance dance so we could carry on and find all of the eggs. Which was a good thing as we were in Uncle Jim's backyard and so he had a vested interest.

Taylor, the only girl amid the bunch looks to be struggling

But then reveals the motherload!

This is a great shot of Cole adjusting his glaze to check out the egg! Either that or he's afraid his Dad will sneak it back out of his basket.

Apparently this cracked egg was of little interest and so Dad tried to entice him with the promise of more.

And once Mom, Dad and Grandma were paying him attention again vs figuring out the shot, Cole's spirit changed and he broke out in a big grin.

Easter is not so bad after all!
