Pumpkins and Slides and Mazes ... oh my

Confidence up, we decided to visit one of the local corn mazes - pumpkin patches here in Davis County called Black Island Farms.

They had all kinds of activities geared for kids of all ages. And three different sizes of slides. Brooklyn, Jace, Cole and Shawn checked out the giant pumpkins while Teri picked up the tickets. They were pretty cool to sit on.

Then it was on to check out the animals. But since it was late in the day the animals weren't especially active, so they weren't especially interesting. We check out the cool tire swing but they were more interesting to us so we headed over to the slides built on top of ever increasing bales of hay. Jace stood back for a while and then dived in. Once started it was tricky to get him off. In fact the only way we got him off was to move him to the next slide. Brooklyn wasn't so enthusiastic. She went up with Shawn and was fine until it was time to come down.

by the way, this slide is about 6 feet long, shorter than the slide at the park

let's try this time with brother -- maybe that will influence her to want to slide...

yeah, not so fast

on the other hand, cole loved the slides

the super slide -- 50% fun (fun = Jace, ready to be done = Brooklyn)

So much fun, worth the hike up the back of the slide for a 2nd ride

After the slides we headed over to some of the other activities. The loved the music room ... almost as much as Shawn. And as always, the farm train was a huge hit.

We gave the maze a try and it was a big hit although sticking with us wasn't.

So after sharing a scone, we headed home for some real dinner (although Teri could have easily had another scone and called that dinner). But it was a lot of fun for all.
